Microneedling improves skin quality regardless of condition but is more noticeable in those with conditions like acne, scarring, or an uneven skin complexion. Microneedling treatments are a great way to reverse early signs of ageing and to ensure your skin stays young and fresh for longer.

What areas can I treat?

Microneedling treatments can be applied to most parts of the body. It is most commonly applied to the facial areas as an effective anti-ageing treatment or to target specific skin concerns such as pigmentation or acne scarring. It can also be used to treat areas where there is scarring from stretch marks, particularly after pregnancy or rapid weight loss.

How soon will I notice the result?

Microneedling is considered a minimally invasive treatment. However, as it is natural and works by creating micro-traumas, it may take a few days for the result to be fully appreciated.You will begin to notice a difference as soon as the redness subsides, which can take a few hours or days, and your skin quality will continue to improve as your body heals.

How long do the results last?

This is dependent on several factors including your current skin condition, lifestyle factors like sun exposure and other things your skin endures i,e. chlorine from swimming, sweat from excessive exercise, cold winds, etc.Genetics also play a role. However, the benefits can be expected to last between 1-3 months. Frequent treatments improve skin quality over time, ensuring that the results are more pronounced and last longer.

How is Microneedling administered?

After a consultation where your skin concern is analysed by Sadie, your face will be cleansed thoroughly, and then the microneedling treatment will begin. It will involve passing a device containing several microneedles over the area being treated, causing micro-punctures. If you are including skin boosters to your treatment, they will be applied before and after microneedling. After the skin boosters have been fully absorbed, a medical grade moisturiser will be applied along with and an SPF cream to grant you protection from the sun.

How long does the treatment take?

This depends on the size of the area being treated, but typically 30-45 minutes.

Yes, microneedling is safe when applied by a qualified professional.

Does it hurt?

Microneedling is not considered a harsh or invasive treatment, but we understand that everyone has a different threshold for physical and psychological discomfort. Microneedling feels like tiny needle pricks and while it is slightly uncomfortable, the majority of customers say it’s bearable.

How long do I need to recover?

Microneedling is considered a zero-downtime procedure because you can continue with your daily activities immediately after treatment. You may experience redness, mild bleeding, dry and flaky skin from scabbing, but this is normal and will fade in a matter of hours or days. During the early hours or days following treatment, we recommend avoiding exposure to anything that may compromise your skin, including the gym, swimming, or crowded places.

Who should not use Microneedling?

If you have broken or active skin conditions, or an infection, you should avoid this treatment until your symptoms or condition subsides.
